32 court arrest on 3rd phase of JKLF campaign in IHK

Srinagar, January 09, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, 32 people including aged mother of prominent Kashmiri martyred liberation leader, Muhammad Maqbool Butt and his three sisters courted arrest, today, during the third phase of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Court Arrest Movement.

These people led by senior JKLF leader, Master Muhammad Afzal courted arrest at Sarai Bal Dastgeer Sahib in Srinagar. Most of them including 10 women belonged to Baramulla and Kupwara districts. Over 100 leaders and activists including JKLF Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik have courted arrest since January 4, when the first phase of the Court Arrest Movement was launched.

The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a media interview from New Delhi over telephone in Srinagar said that the stubbornness of New Delhi was the biggest hurdle in peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute.

The forum led by veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani in a statement in Srinagar termed the recent verdicts by Indian courts against Kashmiri youth including Fayaz Ahmad Shah and Mohammad Syed Butt as politically motivated and biased.

The employees’ three-day strike called by Joint Consultative Committee against anti-people policies of the puppet administration paralysed the work in almost all the government offices in the territory for the second consecutive day, today.

The National Conference General Secretary, advocate Sheikh Nazir addressing a party meeting in Srinagar urged India to fulfil the promise of plebiscite, which was made by the then Indian Prime Minister, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru at Lal Chowk in Srinagar on 18th November in 1947. He said that Kashmiris were always deceived and backstabbed by New Delhi on one pretext or another.

In London, the Executive Director of Kashmir Centre, Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl in a statement urged the international community to take notice of the assertion of puppet minister, Raman Balla that Permanent Resident Certificates would be granted to non-Kashmiri refugees in occupied Kashmir.
