Srinagar, January 06, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front will conduct the second phase of its Court Arrest Campaign, tomorrow, seeking the revoking of life imprisonment awarded to Kashmiri youth. The JKLF spokesman in a statement in Srinagar said that the party leaders, Bashir Ahmed Butt and Showkat Bakhshi along with other people would court arrest on Monday at Batalamoo in Srinagar.
“The second phase of Jail Bharo Tehreek will be held on January 7, Monday, after Zuhr prayers at Batamaloo Astan-i-Aalia Chowk here. Front leaders, activists, family members of detainees and relatives of martyrs would participate in the programme,” he said. In the first phase of the campaign 50 people including the JKLF Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, had courted their arrest on January 04.
Meanwhile, the spokesman said that the Kashmiris, who were injured in the action of Indian troops and police personnel from 2008 to 2010 during anti-India demonstrations, were being summoned to police stations every now and then and subjected to harassment for no fault of theirs. “After the High Court directed the police to submit the cases of those killed and injured in 2010, the police have now started implicating the innocents in different cases,” he added.
