18 outlaws nabbed; hashish and weapons seized

Islamabad: Islamabad police have arrested 18 outlaws from various parts of the city during special crack down and recovered 2.175 kilogram hashish, 20 wine bottles, looted items worth Rs. 2,31,000 and five pistols from their possession, a police spokesman said here Tuesday.

SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan directed all police officials to accelerate efforts against criminal elements and launch crackdown against them. Following these directions, each police station put on their strength at high vigilance resulting which 18 outlaws were arrested from various parts of the city.

According to details, ASI Safdar Hussain from Kohsar police station arrested two thieves Chan Zeb and Adnan in possession of stolen items worth Rs. 90,000 while ASI Javed Iqbal from Bhara Kau police station nabbed Abrar Hussain for having looted items worth Rs. 25,000.

ASI Qaisar Mehmud from Shalimar police arrested a thief Pervez for having theft items wroth Rs. 10,000 while Sub-Inspector Yar Muhammad from Tarnol police apprehended Mazhar Hussain for having Kalashnikov and 136 rounds.

Sub-Inspector Muhammad Aslam from Golra police apprehended Hakeem Ullah, Tariq and Waheed for possessing 2.25 gram hashish while Sub-Inspector Khalid Mehmud from Aabpara police nabbed Shaukat Ali for having 250 gram hashish.

Inspector Muhammad Shafique from Anti-Car Lifting Cell nabbed Zahid Tanveer and recovered tape recorders and mobile phones worth hundreds of thousands of rupees.

Meanwhile, four other persons identified as Imran Saud, Yusuf Shah, Masood Ahmed, Malik Zafar were arrested in possession of 30 bore pistol each and Yasir Shehzad for having 9 MM.

ASI Qasim Zia from Industrial area police nabbed Saddam Hussain and Zaafran for having looted items worth Rs. 30,000. Four beggars were also arrested from various areas of the city. Cases have been registered against all these nabbed persons and further investigation
is underway from them.

IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan and SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan have appreciated this performance and directed all police officials to further improve their performance.
