Srinagar, May 01, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their unabated acts of state terrorism martyred fifteen Kashmiris including a young student and an aged woman in the last month of April.
According to the data compiled by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service, of those martyred three were killed in custody. The killings rendered three women widowed and 10 children orphaned.
Four hundred six civilians were injured when Indian troops and police personnel resorted to brute force and teargas shelling on peaceful protesters, while six hundred twenty eight Hurriyet leaders, activists and youth were arrested during the period.
The Secretary General of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, fell unconscious while addressing party workers in Srinagar. He was immediately rushed to Soura Medical Institute for treatment. The ailing Hurriyet leader has been shifted to intensive care unit of the hospital. The APHC Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani prayed for early recovery of Shabbir Ahmad Shah.
Speakers at a function organized by Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement on the party’s foundation day, today, in Srinagar, reiterated to continue freedom struggle against all odds. The Chairman of the party, Zafar Akbar Butt, rejected the illegal occupation of India over Jammu and Kashmir and appealed to the United Nations to implement its resolutions for settlement of Kashmir dispute.
A man who went missing on April 17 was found dead in mysterious circumstances near Treran area of Tangmarg.
