Srinagar, January 31, 2016 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, at least 10 structures were gutted in a fire incident at Safa Kadal area in Srinagar. Witnesses said fire started around 7.30 pm yesterday night from a house at Waniyar area of Safa Kadal and engulfed adjoining nine structures. “The fire was brought under control at 8.30 pm. Six shops and four houses were gutted in the incident. A woman received head injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital,” police said.
The houses belonged to Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, Manzoor Ahamd Khan, Muhammad Shafi Khan, sons of Muhammad Sultan Khan. Besides, the house of the afflicted woman was also gutted. In the blaze, six shops including Teeco Book seller, Irshad Dental Clinic and Shaheen Fabrics were gutted. Police said the fire was caused due to short-circuit.
