Islamabad, May 12, 2012 (PPI-OT): The Election Commission of Pakistan taking notice of the alleged malpractices committed during bye-election held on 7th May 2012 in Constituency No. 243 D.G. Khan-IV, had ordered not to consolidate the official result of the aforesaid constituency and issued notices to all the contesting candidates, DRO, RO and concerned presiding officers for appearance before it today on 12th May 2012.
The Election Commission, after considering the material placed before it and hearing the parties at length, recalled the notices issued to the contesting candidates and directed the concerned election authorities of PP-243 D.G. Khan-IV to proceed in accordance with law from the stage they were stopped in the election process. The Commission further observed that these proceedings shall not prejudice or influence any proceedings that may be initiated by any of the parties to these proceedings in accordance with law.
