Chairman Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) Dr Umar Saif has said that BITB’s flagship project “E-Stamping” has generated a revenue of thirty point two four (30.24) billion rupees in the last twelve months.
He stated this while chairing a high level meeting which reviewed the performance of e-Stamping project in Lahore on Friday.
He said that till now one point two million citizens have visited the e-Stamping website.
Dr Umar Saif said that the project has brought historic change through technology in the province of the Punjab by replacing a one hundred and seventeen (117) years old system with the innovative, technology based system.
He said that e-Stamping is a step towards generating revenue through technology in most transparent way and to eradicate the chances of financial pilferage through an efficient and accountable system under the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.
He said that the system has empowered the common man to verify the authenticity and value of the e-Stamp paper by sending an SMS on 8100.
The Chairman said that e-Stamp paper can also be verified by using the e-Stamping website.
