Srinagar, October 06, 2017 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) has called for a march towards Tourist Reception Centre (TRC) in Srinagar on October 14, 2017 to protest against incessant incidents of braid-chopping and attempts at altering and changing history, culture, heritage and Muslim majority status of Jammu and Kashmir by authorities in New Delhi.
The JRL comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued in Srinagar asked the people to massively participate in the march.
The leaders said that it was important to call a public demonstration. They said, the resistance movement is in its crucial stage; as such, it is pertinent to call and send a peaceful message to international community and urge them to facilitate legitimate rights and right to self-determination, pledged to the subjugated people of occupied Kashmir.
“Braid-chopping is an attack on dignity and a war weapon against womenfolk,” the resistance leaders said while asking people to stand against these devilish acts. “It was decided to resent and resist those elements, including RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Nirmal Singh, for their shameful and provocative statements wherein they have pleaded for complete integration of Jammu and Kashmir with Delhi,” they said.
The resistance leaders condemned the character assassination campaign launched by the sleuths of India’s National Investigating Agency (NIA) against the Hurriyat leadership, the traders’ fraternity, lawyers and intellectuals including the student community.
They said, New Delhi is all set to abolish state subject law incorporated in Article 370 by challenging it in Supreme Court of India. They said that it was a well-thought-out ploy, conspiracy and attack by Indian authorities and their stooges in the territory against specific and historical status, culture and heritage of Jammu and Kashmir.
Appealing to people to show strength by participating in the protest march, they said that it was the time to expose pro-India PDP and BJP for carrying out brutal killings, loot, plunder and unabated arrests. They particularly appealed to the youth to offer their services as volunteers and maintain discipline during the proposed march.
