Govt to encourage civil society for imparting quality education to special persons: Zulfiqar Behan

Karachi, January 19, 2017 (PPI-OT): Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh for Special education Zulfiqar Behan said that Sindh government was making all efforts to impart quality education and training to special persons so as to groom them as useful citizens adding that non government organizations and civil society would be fully encouraged to join hands with provincial government for this noble national cause.

This, he said while handing over a cheque of Rs 2 million to Family Education Services Foundation (FESF) for acknowledging their services for imparting quality education and vocational training to the deaf and dumb in various districts of the province. He said that special persons had proved themselves in many ways and earned good name for country at international level.

They only need proper guidance and training. ” Parents and society must have to change perception of considering special persons as burden”, Mr. Behan added. He said that it was our collective responsibility to lead and guide special person so that they were be able stand on their feet and live respectful lives. He informed that number of welfare projects for special person are being run successfully under Private Public Partnership in Sindh. He praised the efforts of FESF and hoped that it will continue to serve special persons more effectively .

Earlier, Danieal Marc Lanthier, Operation Director FESF informed that they are running schools in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Tando Allahyar and Shaheed Benazirabad for special children where approximately 1200 students are currently enrolled and , we are providing free of cost books, uniforms, vocational training, food and transportation. He further informed that they also provide full support to the passing out student in their job placement. Due to our efforts , a international fast food chain has given job priority to our students. On the occasion, MNA Shahida Rehmani, Secretary Special Education Dr. Zulfiqar Shallwani and others officers were also present.
