Srinagar, October 31, 2017 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, has said that the people of the territory are facing the worst Indian state terrorism in the form of unabated killings, illegal detentions and other brutalities for pursuing their right to self-determination.
Syed Ali Gilani in a statement in Srinagar appealed to the world human rights organizations and UN Human Rights Council to take cognizance of human rights abuses by Indian troops in the territory. He said history stands witness that in every freedom movement, the occupational and tyrant forces have always suffered a defeat, in the end. “Representing the sentiments and aspirations of people, we have been saying that we will never succumb to any pressure and will take the movement to its logical end,” he added.
The APHC Chairman said that despite unabated killings, plunder, arson, showering bullets and pellets on public gatherings, maiming and blinding innocent children, brute torture of youth, braid chopping and assault on women, New Delhi had failed to break the commitment of people with freedom movement. India is following its particular sectarian dogma and propagating fabricated stories and framing false charges against the pro-freedom leadership, he stated. He asked the Kashmiri people to stand against the communal regime in Delhi, their stooges and pro-India political parties in the occupied territory and frustrate their nefarious designs.
Syed Ali Gilani expressed concern over the biased approach of Indian judiciary against the Kashmiri prisoners. “In hundreds of cases, while judiciary set aside the cases of the detainees and bailed them out, police contrary to the release orders re-arrested them even in court premises against fake charges,” he deplored.
The octogenarian leader referred to the illegally detained senior APHC leader, Masarrat Aalam Butt, and said that despite several court orders, he was not being released. “Similarly, Aasiya Andrabi, Fahmeeda Sofi, Muhammad Subhan Wani, Amir Hamza Shah, Abdul Ghani Butt, Abdul Khaleq Regu, Bashir Ahmed Saleh, Muhammad Yousuf Lone, Sheikh Muhammad Yousuf, Shakeel Ahmed Yatoo, Javed Ahmed Flay, Haji Muhammad Rustam Butt, Mufti Abdul Ahad Rather, Muhammad Subhan Khan, Meraj-ud-Din Naikoo, Haji Mansoor Ahmed Kaloo, Muhammad Ashraf Malik, Imtiaz Ahmed Mir, Salman Yousuf, Mashooq Ahmed Butt, Ghulam Muhammad Tantray, Nasir Abdullah, Abdul Rasheed Butt, Ghulam Rasool Parray, Bashir Ahmed Sofi, Abdul Rasheed Rather, Bashir Ahmed Wani, Ghulam Nabi Khan, Sajjad Ahmed Mir, Abdul Salam Mir, Aijaz Ahmed Bahroo, Pir Tanvir, Mushtaq Ahmed Hurra, Danish Malik and scores of others despite being bailed out by court, were not released by police,” he said.
