Karachi, January 12, 2017 (PPI-OT):Provincial Minister for Education and Literacy Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has said that it is high time to mould our educational curriculum according to the requirements of the modern era and unless we do this, we cannot achieve our targets. This he said while presiding over 4th meeting of Sindh Curriculum Council here at Tughlaq House Sindh Secretariat today.
Secretary Education Schools Jamal Mustafa Syed, Additional Secretary Nawaz Soho, DG PIET Asghar Memon and Head of Curriculum Wing Dr. Fouzia Khan also attended the meeting. In the meeting the rules of business of Sindh Curriculum Council were discussed in detail and decided to form a committee which would submit the rules in the next meeting. It was also decided in the meeting that the processes of improving the textbooks on the feedbacks received on the text editions would be accelerated.
The Minister for E and L Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar detected the officers concerned to focus on to improve the teaching abilities of the teachers in general and of science teachers in particular. The meeting also reviewed the science textbooks. The minister also suggested that the learning should be on skill based so that the students might compete in practical life. He was of the opinion that curriculum and learning processes should be innovative, informative and interesting as well.
