Jerusalem, (IINA) – Al-Aqsa Mosque has embraced more than 300,000 worshippers on the second Friday of the Holy of Ramadan.
Director General of the Islamic Endowments Department in Jerusalem Sheikh Azzam al-Khatib said that “more than 300 thousand worshippers performed today’s prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
The worshippers insisted on praying at the holy site amid unjustified Israeli restrictions, as many have stayed inside the mosque from Thursday night, and others were arriving after Fajr prayers.
In his sermon, preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque Sheikh Akrama Sabri denounced Israeli authorities for preventing residents under the age of 40 from praying in the mosque.
He told the Anadolu Agency that around 15 thousand worshippers stayed at the mosque since Thursday’s Iftar.
